Theodore "Ted" Blunt is an American politician and president of the Wilmington City Council and a candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Delaware.
Blunt was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is one of four children born to Helen and John Blunt. He attended Simon Gratz High School in Philadelphia. Blunt attended Winston-Salem State University.[1]
In 1985 Blunt was elected to the Wilmington City Council; he served on the Finance, Expenditure Review, Bond and the Audit Committees. He also served on the Cablevision Commission, the Board of Pensions and Retirement, the Home Ownership Corporation, and the Port Authority. In 2000 Blunt was elected President of the Wilminqton City Council and Chairman of the Wilminqton Cable Commission. Matthew T. Lawrence In 2008, Blunt announced that he would seek the office of Lt. Governor, becoming the first viable African-American[2] to run for state-wide office in Delaware.[3][4]
